Diarrhea
Diarrhea is loose, watery, or unformed stool. Many cases improve in 24–48 hours, but bloody or persistent diarrhea needs veterinary attention.
Itching
Itching (pruritus) almost always has an underlying cause — allergies, parasites, infection, or skin disease — rather than resolving on its own.
Limping
Limping means favoring one or more legs due to pain or weakness. Mild limping may improve with rest; persistent lameness needs evaluation.
Ear infections
Ear infections are common in floppy- or hairy-eared dogs. They are often painful and smelly — and usually respond well to prompt treatment.
Coughing
A cough can mean kennel cough, airway disease, heart disease, or mild throat irritation — the cause matters more than the cough itself.
Lethargy
Lethargy means low energy and less interest in normal activities. It is vague — and important — because it often signals illness early.
Loss of appetite
Skipping one meal can be nothing; multiple missed meals mean something needs attention — especially with lethargy or vomiting.
Eye discharge
Eye discharge ranges from clear tearing to thick yellow-green pus. Color, amount, and one vs both eyes all matter for diagnosis.
